How Can You Reclaim Your Personal Space?
Personal space: We all want it; we all need it. To find out just what bothers Leo Burnett employees most, we conducted a quick survey to discover their top “too close for comfort” moments: big people squishing you on planes, close talkers (especially those with bad breath), open-mouthed chewers and people who choose the stall next to yours in the bathroom — when the rest of the bathroom is completely empty.
Why are these things “uncomfortable and awkward,” as one Burnetter put it? These things congest. These things invade privacy. These things crowd your personal space.
So the question remains: How can you reclaim that basic human need?
Leo Burnett Melbourne recently created an ad called "Reclaim your Personal Space" for Honda Australia that emphasizes the human need for personal space. The hilarious TV spot features situations in which people are, for lack of a better phrase, seriously up in each other's grills.
Jason Williams, executive creative director of Leo Burnett Melbourne, said, "After home and work, the car is technically our 'third' space. We spend a lot of our lives behind the wheel, so it's important this space provides drivers with all the comfort, connectivity and room they desire. It should feel like their very own personal sanctuary."
According to Jason Miller, Honda Australia General Manager Communications and Customer, the new Honda City is a "light car that's loaded with clever compact-thinking, inside and out."
